Overview

The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course is all about Adventure Exploration, Excitement, and Experiences.  It is designed so you can go straight into it after the PADI Open Water Diver course.   This course builds on what you have learned and develops new capabilities by introducing you to new activities and new ways to helps you increase your confidence and build your scuba skills so you can become more comfortable in the water. 


You will be qualified to 30m depth (Divers younger than 12years are limited to 21m) anywhere in the world without professional supervision (where local laws allow).


Get credit! Each Adventure Dive in the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course may credit toward the first dive of the corresponding PADI Specialty Diver course.


What You Learn


The knowledge and skills you get in the Advanced Open Water Diver course vary with your interest and the adventures you have, but Combining boat and shore diving, you complete an orientation session and 5 dives, along with 5 knowledge reviews, to gain this qualification. Deep (30 meters)and Navigation are required dives, but you can choose the other 3 from 15 types of Adventure Dives to complete your course. You can try your hand at digital underwater photographywreck diving (You can dive the famous local dive sites like El Mina Wreck that lies in 30m of water), night divingdiving with underwater scooters (DPV), peak performance buoyancy and much more. These skills make diving much more than underwater sightseeing.


 



  •  Practical aspects of deep diving  (typically anywhere from 18-30 meters)

  • Physiological effects of deeper scuba diving.

  • More ways to use your underwater compass

  • How to navigate using kick-cycles, visual landmarks and time

  • How to better use your dive computer and electronic Recreational Dive Planner TM (eRDPTM)

  • And much, much more, depending on the Adventure Dives you choose

  • A sampler of three more Adventure Dives of your choice  

  • During the course, you can even sample training exercises from the PADI Rescue Diver course during this program that will credit you should you continue your diver education.


There are no exams or classroom work on this course: you just need to read the relevant sections of the Adventures in Diving manual and complete the knowledge reviews.


 


Adventure dives available to divers 12 years and older: AWARE-Fish Identification, Boat,
Peak Performance Buoyancy, Underwater Naturalist, Digital Underwater Photography,
Underwater Navigator, and Dry Suit.


PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course is part of PADI eLearning®. The Advanced Open Water Diver Course Online gets you started right now with the background information you need for the seven of the most popular Adventure Dives (though you and your instructor can still choose any of the Adventure Dives.) 


DURATION:


5 dives usually over 2 days. 


PREREQUISITES:


The minimum age is 10, there is no maximum age must be comfortable in the water and No physical examination is required if you are in good health. For more information on the physical requirements for the course, see Medical History Form. If you have any of the mentioned medical conditions, we require signed clearance from a physician valid within 12 months.
